BOMB 30th Anniversary Gala And Silent Auction

Style 1 Media It was difficult to find a guest who was not an eminent artist, writer, actor, musician, curator, or museum director at BOMB Magazine's 30th Anniversary Gala at Capitale. The New York-based art and literary magazine, headed by Publisher/Editor-in-Chief Betsy Sussler, celebrated its birthday on April 15th with a silent art auction, dinner, and program honoring artist Marina Abramovic; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation Director, Richard Armstrong; former Art in America editor, Betsy Baker, and bestselling author, Francine Prose. The event was co-chaired by Robert Duffy, Michael Ward Stout, Mary and Sean Kelly, and BOMB Trustee Michele Gerber Klein. Guggenheim Trustee Amy Phelan was Honorary Chair. Notable attendees included BOMB Trustee Chairman, writer/curator Klaus Kertess; actress Kim Cattrall; actor/playwright Wallace Shawn; musician Michael Stipe; artists Ellsworth Kelly, Mary Heilmann, and Anh Duong; Pulitzer Prize winner, Michael Cunningham; author A.M. Holmes; writer/cartoonist Anthony Haden-Guest; MoMA Chief Curator of Media, Klaus Biesenbach; and Guggenheim Foundation President Jennifer Stockman; New Museum Director Lisa Phillips.

Since 1981, BOMB has been publishing quarterly issues that explore the creative process, unique because artists and writers edit them. Through interviews, fiction, poetry, reviews, and essays, BOMB gives a voice to artists, writers, actors, musicians, and directors, keeping vital the creative discussion.
